My photography has many of the characteristics of my drawings. I like to play with simple shapes, complex textures, and color. I like to work with a shallow depth of field. I am always looking at the ground, the sky, walls, or the flat faces of objects. These “surfaces” allow me to play with negative and positive space in abstract ways. It allows me to use texture for depth, and to let the randomness of texture create its own compositions. The thing about photography is that everything is already there. I don't have to create it. I just have to interpret it.
